🎨 Prototype AI Features Creatively
Prototyping AI features doesn’t require a complex setup. In fact, starting with lightweight tools can help you test ideas quickly and refine functionality before diving into detailed design.
Â
v0.dev by Vercel is a development platform, but I’ve been using it as a tool for brainstorming and generating design ideas before jumping into Figma. Instead of spending too much time on the Figma canvas right away, I quickly sketch out a few concepts in v0.dev.Â
Â
đź’ˇ Example Workflow:
- Sketch the Concept: Use v0.dev to simulate an AI feature (e.g., generating personalized email suggestions). Input basic logic or placeholders to illustrate functionality.
- Iterate Quickly: Adjust
behaviors, outputs, or UI elements directly in the platform, saving time over pixel-perfect design.
- Gather Feedback: Share the prototype with your team or stakeholders early to validate the approach and refine based on input.

Why It Works
By
starting with a functional prototype:
- Save Time: Focus on core interactions before perfecting visuals in Figma or another design tool.
- Encourage Collaboration: Early-stage prototypes invite iterative feedback and co-creation, aligning teams faster.
- Test Assumptions: Quickly identify what works and what doesn’t before committing to full development.
