Why Context Matters
While first impressions are useful, UI/UX is more than just visuals. It’s about solving problems for "specific users within particular constraints". Without understanding the who, what, and why behind a design, even the best
designers can misjudge an interface.
Here’s what context reveals that an outsider might miss:
❌ User Needs: Who is this designed for? What are their behaviors, pain points,
and expectations? A design that seems unconventional might actually be well-tailored for its audience.
❌ Business Goals: What is the company trying to achieve? Is the UI optimized for engagement, conversion, or efficiency? Sometimes, trade-offs are intentional.
❌ Technical Constraints: Was the team working with legacy systems, accessibility laws, or performance limitations? A less-than-ideal solution may be the best possible outcome within given constraints.
